A strong economy is a simple formula: Greater entrepreneurship, which is created by pro-entrepreneurship public policies, which is created by electing pro-entrepreneurship politicians. Make no mistake: The success of the U.S. over the next few years depends on how well it follows this formula for success.
The results threaten popular support for free markets because people see poverty and chaos and conclude (incorrectly) that it is an inevitable result of a blinkered “just leave it to the market” ideology even though the problems started when the government expressly decided not to just leave prices to the market.

Dr. Martin Luther King’s March on Washington in 1963 was actually called the March On Washington For Jobs And Freedom. It was economic activism, as well as political and social activism. Economic activism – teaching more people how to fish in America’s rapidly flowing and abundantly stocked economic river – can be more productive on more fronts than protest, social justice campaigning or welfare legislation.
In the long-run, small businesses decrease their market presence, allowing more consumers to become more productive in satisfying their own wants and those of others, which creates a robust (C2C) marketplace. The immediate effect will be to show that consumers are creative and can be entrepreneurial.
If the Davonte Bryants of the world are to be safeguarded, we must embrace private property rights, free enterprise, capitalism. That is their last best hope. This system has done more for the African-American community than any other, Imperfect as is the US economic system, the GDP of all black citizens together would rank 12th in the world, if they constituted a separate country.
Experts concede they cannot achieve intelligent risk assessment of the population. And that’s the whole point. That needs to be left to individuals. Central planning does not work for all the reasons that F.A. Hayek explained: the necessary knowledge to make intelligent decisions is decentralized and not available in useful forms for elite overseers or anyone else.
If the COVID-19 death toll was not misleading at all, what we should have observed is an increased number of heart attacks and increased COVID-19 numbers. But a decreased number of heart attacks and all the other death causes doesn’t give us a choice but to point to some misclassification.
Are these conspiracy theories actually true? Some of them? All of them? None of them? I suspect that a unit within the federal government has looked into this question—perhaps the NSA. And I imagine that by now they’ve been able to ascertain the answer to this question.But they aren’t telling us.
We need people who can imagine a better future in entrepreneurial terms, not political terms. People who can identify how to serve their customers in a better way, and claim the reward of a financial profit for improving their customers’ lives. We need people who take personal, entrepreneurial and commercial risk because they see opportunity and they believe that they can seize it.
